Self-publishing Demystified

Hank to the rescue!

With all the changes going on in the publishing field, it’s no wonder that the whole subset of self-publishing may be mystifying to many of us. I’m surely one of the benighted. And that’s why I was so happy to learn that Hank Quense, my friend and prolific author (see Falstaff Frolics) has written the perfect guide for those of us who may yearn — or desperately need! — to understand how to self-publish and promote our work.

If you’re considering this route, but feel confused about the production process, how long it takes, and what a reasonable budget looks like, then you’ll definitely want to check out Hank’s new ebook, Manage Your Self-publishing Project.

Hank’s a very organized and methodical guy — and he really knows how to deliver information. He’s put together a series of fiction-writing guides that are excellent and I’ve attended his Story Design seminar twice — it’s terrific! His new ebook takes a unique approach: It uses easy-to-understand flow charts and intuitive mind maps to lay out the processes and time frames required for a self-publishing project — and supplements them with notes that explain what’s involved, step by step.

Manage Your Self-publishing Project really covers the waterfront: It maps out everything from publishing and budgeting to marketing. In 40 information-packed pages, it gives you a clear, comprehensive picture of what it takes to produce your ebook, get it into distribution channels, and then promote it to readers. I’m considering putting together a series of short ebooks myself and I’m glad I’ve got Hank as my ebook coach!
