It’s exciting to see new opportunities opening up for independently published books to gain exposure. Among them is a competition sponsored by the widely read publication, the Library Journal designed to recognize the highest-caliber self-published ebooks in a range of genres: Romance, Mystery, Science Fiction, and Fantasy.
Winners in each genre will receive outstanding exposure among the national library community — one of the most influential segments of the book industry. The competition is open to authors of English-language self-published ebooks for which they hold the copyright and all rights to digital distribution. Entries will be evaluated on content, writing quality, and the overall quality of production and appearance. Only digital titles may be submitted for review.
There are no restrictions on date of publication, no fees for submission, and no limit on the number of submissions an individual author may make. Competition judges include Library Journal editors and public collection librarians.
Each genre winner will receive $1,000.00 from the Library Journal. All winners and honorable mentions will also receive:
A full Library Journal review, published in print and online.
Ad exposure featuring all award winners and honor books in the Library Journal’s December “Best of Books” issue.
Recognition at the Self-Published Ebook Awards Reception to be held during the American Library Association Midwinter Meeting in Boston.
The contest deadline for submission: August 31, 2015. No fees, no restrictions on date of publication: If you have an ebook, why not give yourself a shot? For more details, google the Library Journal ebook competition. Write on!
