As writers, we always have our antennae up and that’s a good thing, because inspiration is all around us, just waiting to be discovered. Just recently, I came across a load of it on a Cornflakes box of all places.
On the back of the box was this bold proclamation:
“FIND Big Inspiration IN THE LITTLE THINGS:
Watch the sun rise and set on the same day
Pack a picnic lunch
Go stargazing
Explore local walking/hiking trails
Have a bon fire
Set your favorite dance music as your alarm
Climb a tree
Eat with chopsticks
Tell someone you love them
Build a snowman
Do a random act of kindness
Fly a kite
Bake cookies for your neighbors
Get ice cream from an ice cream truck
Jump in a puddle
Watch the clouds
Visit a local museum
Learn a card trick
Finish a 1000 piece puzzle …

The list goes on a bit longer, but you get the idea. While many of us are still sheltering at home, this wonderful bit of writing reminds us that simple pleasures can inspire and uplift us. Let’s remember to bring the joy of life to our readers as we all write on!
