Just Today

“The secret lies in how we handle today, not yesterday or tomorrow. Today…that special block of time holding the key that locks out yesterday’s nightmares and unlocks tomorrow’s dreams.”   Charles Swindoll, Clergyman and Writer

What simple, but powerful advice! My good friend and mentor Coach Mike Tully has a wonderful sticker on his compute that says, “Stay in Today.”

When we stay in today, we’re focused and present. So here’s a plan:

Just for today – let’s be grateful that we have a new day to work and thrive.

Just for today – let’s see whatever time we have as a fresh page we can fill.

Just for today – let’s forget whatever disappointment plagued us yesterday.

Just for today – let’s give ourselves the gift of belief in the work at hand.

Just for today – let’s pat ourselves on the back for showing up and writing

Just for today – let’s decide to go all out instead of holding back.

Just for today – let’s surpass ourselves by doing more than we expected.

Just for today – let’s give our work what it deserves: energy and enthusiasm.

Just for today – let’s see ourselves as one of the world’s greatest writers!

Why not? Today lies ahead of us, totally uncharted. We can imagine anything, do anything, be anything as we all write on!
