“Choice” Power

Please help KWD grow by sharing: https://karinwritesdangerously.wordpress.com/

“The greatest power we have is the ower of choice. It’s an actual fact that if you’ve been moping in unhappiness, you can choose to be joyous instead, and by effort, life yourself into joy.  If you tend to be fearful, you can overcome that misery by choosing to have courage. Even in the darkest grief you have a choice.

“The whole trend and quality of anyone’s life is determined in the long run by the choices that are made.”   Norman Vincent Peale

What a liberating and empowering approach to life this is! Think about it:  At any given moment, in any situation life throws at us, we have the power to choose how to respond.

We can choose to believe that we have the energy and drive to accomplish our goals.

We can choose to believe that writing is a calling that choose us and will sustain us.

We can choose to act as if it were impossible to fail and go out and make things happen.

We can choose to ask for help when we feel we’re stuck in a rut instead of staying there.

We can choose to see failure as feedback instead of a verdict about our abilities.

We can choose to persist in the face of obstacles when others would stop and quit.

Wow! Just think about all the power this gives us! We are not bits of tumbleweed blown off course by any gust of wind that comes our way. We are more like sturdy trees that can stake a claim to a bit of ground, spread our roots, and let our branches soar up to the sky.  A place where the wind can blow through us, but not knock us down. A place where sweet fruit can grow and furnish life and hope.  A place where birds can sing with abandon and bring joy.

How wonderful that we have the power of choice! Let’ ue it today as we all write on!
