Pocket Fiction— love that name! This is a new online publisher of short fiction and poetry produced in the UK. It focusing on stories a reader can enjoy during coffee breaks, commutes, and other daily activities— in short, stories that can be consumed in five to twenty minutes. Pocket Fiction publishes both literary and mainstream writing by authors around the world.
Pocket Fiction also produces a read-aloud podcast featuring writing from the journal. Podcasts are under 20 minutes, ideal for a short break. All writing published in the online journal is considered for audio presentation with the permission of authors.
Pocket Fiction was launched in 2021. To date, it’s published fifty pieces of writing. You can get a sense of its content by reading the journal online or listening to the podcast for free on Spotify.
Fiction authors can submit short stories, 100 to 5,000 words. Genres include: fantasy, historical fiction, horror, humor, literary fiction, magical realism, musical fiction, religious fiction, romance, satire, and science fiction. Pocket Fiction also accepts poetry.
